We have been informed by the developer that their proposed project comprises the alteration of an existing hazardous waste facility, including the recovery, treatment, and disposal of hazardous waste. The developer is also proposing to include in their project, as associated development, the proposed disposal of low level radioactive waste.

What happens next

The application is expected to be submitted to the IPC February / March 2012.

The IPC has 28 days from the day after submission (known as the acceptance stage) to review the application and decide whether or not to accept it.

If the application is accepted, we will advise the timescales when interested parties can register to make a representation.

  • Publish the date on which registration will close.
