The application is for a dedicated 26 - 30km Gas Pipeline between the proposed new gas fired power station at Willington (application submitted to DECC in Dec 2009, under s36) and the transmission Network system.
This application to be submitted under s21 (other pipelines).
Construction is carried out in stages which results in minimal visual impact and takes roughly 9 months to complete.
Associated Development consists of a permanent compound 40m x 40m including an access road and security fencing, and marked wooden poles in fields and markings on roads. Temporary Development includes site offices and pipe dumps.
What happens next
The application is expected to be submitted to the IPC June 2012.
The IPC has 28 days from the day after submission (known as the acceptance stage) to review the application and decide whether or not to accept it.
If the application is accepted, we will advise the timescales when interested parties can register to make a representation.

Publish the date from which you will be able to register to put your case on the application
Publish the date on which registration will close.
